We will continue to update this page with additional FAQs as we get closer to the conference.
General questions
Due to the impact of budgetary constraints and travel restrictions on staff's ability to attend in-person programming, the 2026 conference will be held virtually. Although it is not the preferred level of engagement, it is important to continue having critical conversations with colleagues across the system. The virtual conference is aligned with similar systemwide convenings in today’s budget climate.
The conference will be hosted via the Zoom webinar platform.
Although attendees will not be on camera during the main sessions, we will utilize zoom breakout rooms for the concurrent sessions.
Attendees are encouraged to turn on their cameras and actively engage during the concurrent sessions.
Since staff and faculty schedules vary, we wanted to provide multiple opportunities for the community to engage. The agenda consists of inspiring speakers, an intersegmental leadership panel and concurrent sessions led by colleagues from across the UC system.
The conference will provide a professional learning environment with particular attention to issues affecting UC’s Black/African American community. The conference is open to all UC faculty, staff and administrators.
The UCBAC Steering Committee wanted to provide an opportunity for the community to come together in person, but in a smaller, regional setting to allow more flexibility for local travel. UC Davis will host a Northern California gathering on April 14.
UCBAC Pop-Ups will be open to the entire UCBAC faculty/staff community. A Southern California event is pending.
Please complete this brief form if you would be interested in attending a regional in-person gathering.
Limited group tickets are available for the UCBAC community to attend the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater performance on April 14 at UC Davis.
